Headlander is being funded by Leader which also pays for Driffield Malton Dodger and supports the Spurn Ranger. EYMS won the contract.
Another summer development is that EYMS 120 (Bridlington - Scarborough via Primrose Valley)restarts next Saturday 10th March and runs until 3rd November, i.e. for 34 weeks, which is 5 weeks longer than in 2011. This appears to be partly in response to requests at the last Bridlington Bus Forum - see http://www.eyms.co.uk/documents/pdfupload/[88]Brid%20Bus%20Forum%209%20.11.11.pdf where an all-year-round service was requested.
Although strictly outside the area, associated with the 120 is a new X20 from Filey to Scarborough. It runs from Good Friday to 3rd November - hourly between 0900 and 1300 from Filey and between 1345 and 1745 from Scarborough. This results in a 20-minute frequency between Filey and Scarborough at the busiest times.
I did see on VOSA as well a few weeks ago that Shoreline Suncruisers were starting a Filey service this year too
The X20 service is designed to compete with the new 555 Filey Flyer service run by Shoreline Suncruisers.
It would seem to have made more sense to make the 120 service more reliable and also the 121 service which always struggles in summer.
It is interesting to note that T.D. Travel are not operating the 500 service as this normally replaces the 502 service through the summer months, a service which T.D. currently operate.
IIRC in the past when the 500/501 operated instead of the 502 in the Summer, Buckton lost it's Sunday service and Bempton passengers had chnage in Flamborough to get to Bridlington. So running the 500 AND 502 should be welcome news for those two villages
Just wondering if anyone knew anything about CT Plus taking over Ellie Rose?
