As part of Stagecoach's Easter Sunday (31st March) Hull service changes, cross-city tendered service 1C between Mizzen Road in North Hull and Sibelius Road in West Hull was split into two; East Yorkshire's old service 21 returned for the Hull City Centre to Mizzen Road section and new service 61 for the Hull City Centre to Sibelius Road section.
On the 1C, the Hull City Centre to Mizzen Road section had four off peak departures each way Monday to Saturday mornings and early afternoons; 0900, 1000, 1200 and 1400 from Mizzen Road and 0935, 1135, 1335 and 1435 from Paragon Interchange. The new 21 operates hourly with departures from Mizzen Road between 0908 and 1408, and from Paragon Interchange between 0938 and 1438. A much better service at this time of day, albeit the through link to Hull Royal Infirmary that the cross-city 1C provided is lost.
Unfortunately though Mizzen Road has also lost it's peak time service. The 4A variant of service 4 between Hull Paragon Interchange and Orchard Park had operated hourly Monday to Saturday peaks, with two morning journeys from Mizzen Road and three late afternoon journeys in each direction. Since Easter Sunday, the 4A has been replaced by standard service 4's. It is worth noting that the Mizzen Road estate is within walking distance of Beverley Road for the able-bodied, from where frequent services from both East Yorkshire and Stagecoach can be caught.
Turning to West Hull, and the 1C from Hull City Centre to Sibelius Road also had four journeys in each direction Monday to Saturday mornings and early afternoons; 0900, 1000, 1100 and 1300 from Sibelius Road and 0925, 1025, 1225 and 1425 from Monument Bridge in Hull City Centre. With the new 61, services now operate every 90 minutes; from Sibelius Road at 0935, 1105, 1235 and 1405, and from Paragon Interchange at 1025, 1155, 1325 and 1455.
