I won't do this on a regular basis, but the latest 'Notices and Proceedings' published by the Traffic Commissioner details many planned changed to bus services in April, and not just in the East Riding of Yorkshire were the council are cutting bus subsidies. Suprised to see the 10 down for cancellation in Scunthorpe. Hopefully something in the pipeline to replace, although apart from a few patches, it mostly duplicates other services, so hardly a surprise.

506.508 cancellation.
The Mon to Sat continues as normal.
The cancellations apply to the Sunday 506 to West Hill and the 508 Bridlington Sunday circular service

The 78/277s ran by Stagecoach are being amended. The first 18:10 78 and its return journey are the only ones which will run.

Got told by an EY driver that the cuts are quite hard hitting and the company don't appear to be taking many of the services that have lost funding on a commercial basis. With Beverley losing its town service it will be interesting to see how long the depot there can survive. Elloughton appear to have lost all there Sunday work.

The Beverley Town Services may just be the Sunday services going, and the odd subsidised weekday journey. It seems the 506/508 in Bridlington have separate Sunday registrations, so lets hope the Beverley services do as well.

Do Elloughton do the commercial Sunday X57?

On a self-interest note, anyone know what the 350 changes are for? EYMS giving up their evening roundtrip after the loss of EYRC and Hull funding, and Stagecoach either taking it on commercially or amending their commercial evening services in response?

Hull operate the Sunday x57's.

I heard that Stagecoach were giving up all the 78's as east Yorkshire will be operating a 78 at 1810. The 277 is to be split from the 78 and run to Burstwick during the day. Not sure how much truth there is in that though.

It's sad to see the number 12 in Grimsby-Cleethorpes at risk of being cut (again!), that route is vital for most of the areas served and is never lightly loaded when I use it.

Just to say you can still view daily updates, but its very chunky and I believe the traffic office is still working on making it better or either that making the old format comparable with the new system.

I would say NO10 most likely going to get replace by 31-34 services.

Changes to 45/46 will see the 16.35 ex Bridlington to York leave earlier and run as a 46 to Middleton. It will then run over to North Dalton and run the 45 route to Pocklington. It will then run the 46 route to York. The return from York will be the normal 45 route. This is a result of the 15.45 journey been cancelled from Bridlington.

Thanks for the info. Am I right in thinking all evening services in North East Linconshire apart from service 20 are being cancelled?

Joe said...

Oh god no!
That's absolutely terrible, cutting all evening routes.
The 4a and Sunday 6 are needed too.

I guess this also conforms the 12 as going :(
I assume that's why the Humber Flyer's route will change, to match the old X1 to New Waltham?

The changes to EYMS services 142, 180 and 520-3 are likely to be the withdrawal of the Sunday shift where the same vehicle covers the 0940 180 from Cottingham to Beverley, the 1015 520 town service, the 1040 142 to Middleton and back, the 1145 523 town service, the 1200 180 to Cottingham and back, the 1315 522 town service, the 1415 520 town service, the 1440 142 to Middleton and back, the 1545 523 town service, the 1600 180 to Cottingham and back, the 1715 522 town service and, finally, the 1800 180 to Cottingham.

Ref previous post regarding EYMS.service 45 at 16.35 from Bridlington.
There will not be any changes on 1st April and this service will continue in its existing format.

Changes are now on Traveline for the Scunthorpe services. Nothing yet for Grimsby.

Im not convinced the changes in Scunthorpe on travel line are 100% accurate, I think the old times AND the new times are both showing after 3rd April - such as the 350 is showing 2 buses within 5 minutes of each other all day after 3rd April, where as actually I suspect the half hourly pattern is moving back by 5 minutes. With this in mind - from what I can gather...

The 31 and 32 are currently on as doubling to every 10 minutes, which I don't think is correct The new times fit between the old ones, but include nearly all buses operating via Tesco (but existing journeys not) - So its more likely that all departures will move forward/back 10 minutes, with the current times left on in error.

The 33/34 is slightly unusual, and somewhat concerning. The new timetable suggests route 33 will run every 20 minutes to Westcliff via the college only. This is currently down as in addition to the current 33/34 circulars, making an unusual every 10-20 minutes pattern. My gut tells me this is an error, and again the 33/34 Bottesford journeys should be removed HOWEVER this would leave large swaithes of Bottesford with no service at all, or just the hourly 11 route, which would be a massive blow, and leave most of Bottesford with no pre-9am journeys.

The 11 37 and 38 are all changing, but remain hourly, simular to now.

Looking at the new Hedon timetables, it shows that Hedon market place will have no buses until after 3pm! Indeed passengers travelling to Hedon from Preston will need to catch the bus in Baxtergate and travel back via Thorngumbald/Burstwick during the morning. Not sure why the extended service 277 to Burstwick is only running one way in the morning and the opposite way in the afternoon. Would it really be too difficult to alternate the services?

Passengers travelling from Paull to Hedon during the day are going to struggle to get back and are faced with waits of 3 or 4 hours.

Its all very well the bus companies blaming the councils for these cuts but they still need to provide a service that the public can use without being inconvenienced by shoddy timetabling.

I have asked Stagecoach Grimsby Cleethorpes about all these changes and they are saying that nothing is changing.
