Withernsea to Hull Peak Time Reductions

East Yorkshire Buses revised their 75 and X7 services between Hull, Hedon and Withernsea from Sunday 15th February. There were no changes to the 'headline' frequencies - both services still operate every hour Monday to Saturday daytimes for two services per hour combined. However peak time services were reduced. 

I initially wrote this post having compared the September 2024 and February 2026 timetables, however I then came across a September 2025 timetable and it seems like there were cutbacks then which I didn't pick up on at the time. So the below reductions and retimings did not all happen in February 2026, but represent the cumulative impact of September 2025 and February 2026.

Monday to Friday, the 0555 Withernsea to Hull service 75 was replaced with a 0626 Hedon to Hull service 75, alternative departures from Withernsea are available at 0515 on service 75 and 0615 on service X7. The 0700 X7 from Withernsea was withdrawn without replacement, alternatives are the 0645 or 0715 service 75's. The 1502 X7 from Withernsea was also withdrawn, leaving a gap between service 75's at 1432 and 1518. From Hull the 1550 X7 was withdrawn, with the 1610 service 75 becoming an X7. The 1630 service 75 moves to 1640 with the 1650 service X7 and 1710 service 75 withdrawn; the 1730 X7 moves to 1720. What was a 20 minute interval from Hull between 1510 and 1730 is now every 30-40 minutes.

On Saturday mornings, the 0555 service 75 from Withernsea was withdrawn; rather than departures at 0525, 0555, 0645 and 0732, it is now 0532, 0632 and 0732. The 0807 service X7 was also withdrawn, with alternative service 75's at 0732 or 0822. From Hull, service 75 departures at 0645, 0715 and 0815 are consolidated into 0655 and 0755 services. Departing Hull the 1710 service 75 and 1730 service X7 are consolidated into a 1720 service 75. The last X7 is now at 1610 and the evening service essentially begins in the 1700 hour.

I presume there has been a transfer of some Withernsea based duties to Hull as part of these changes? Possibly two vehicles worth Monday to Friday and one on Saturdays?
