Blog Notice

When bus services started to be cut in March due to COVID-19, I decided not to try to follow all the changes in the Humber region. It would have been very time consuming and not particularly enjoyable for someone who wants to see buses thrive. Now that the situation is moving back more towards normality, it's time to start covering developments again, or at least those which look to be permanent or non-COVID-19 related.

Great to see you back at it, always love the reads. Some very intriguing changes being made to Stagecoach's network frequency wise in Hull!

Totally understand this. Although sad news has emerged this week, the 250 is being diverted no longer serving Humberside Airport and rerouted via Ulceby/Barrow. At the same time the 450 is being axed.

It's a shame, but I've just thought seeing as the road to Ulceby isn't that far off from Humberside Airport and the 450 is operated from the Grimsby depot, perhaps they could still serve Humberside Airport whilst serving Ulceby/Barrow and if it requires an extra resource, use the resource that would have otherwise been used for the 450 on the 250 to help with providing a service that could serve both the airport and the two villages mentioned. Or, the spare resource after the 450 has gone could perhaps be used on the number 5 from Grimsby to reinstate the extension to South Killingholme.

Great to see the blog back!

Quite a lot of changes in Scunthorpe again, as well as Hull. as usual cuts, although not sure if permanent or not.

The spare resource for now has gone into propping up the Grimsby town routes, the 3/4 have gone back to a 10 minute frequency they had up until 2018. They have otherwise assisted with a severe driver shortage the depot is suffering, with Lincoln depot having to fully cover the Interconnect 53 and Hull having to fully cover the 250.
