New EYMS X4 further details

Thanks to an anonymous poster on my initial blog post, further details of EYMS's new X4 have been revealed. It will be a two hourly Monday to Saturday Market Weighton-York service avoiding Pocklington. Also changes to the 746 (Market Weighton-Pocklington-York) see the service avoiding the University of York as well as an extra morning journey from Market Weighton at 0910, while another has been retimed to leave after 0930 to allow free bus passes for OAP's to be used.

More details in the comments section of the blog post linked to above.

As a side note, has the X55 inspired the X4? An express service omitting a key location en-route to provide a quicker service for others. Not something EYMS had done in recent times until the X55, which omits North Cabe, Save Cave and North Ferriby for quicker journeys into Hull from Gilberdyke, Brough and Elloughton. Could this 'concept' be applied anywhere else in the EYMS network?

It seems that you are spot-on regarding the X4 being inspired by X55.
The EYMS website has a 'taster' item entitled 'Wicstun Express', with the comment that 'getting to York will never be the same again'. The colour of the logo suggests that it too might be operated by indigo and cream liveried vehicles.

The timetables for the X4 and revised times for 744, 746, 195/6 and 18A are now on the EYMS website.

However, the website explicitly states that the 746 continues to serve York University, so it appears that the new 746 timetables currently shown on both Traveline Yorkshire and Traveline East Midlands are incorrect in this respect.
