EYMS win Green Bus Fund money
EYMS have been awarded £794,400 to fund 8 new hybrid or electric buses from the Department for Transport's Green Bus Fund. Would be interested to see what route these are intended for.
Don't bet on EY actually taking the grant. A recent demonstration bus proved itself but also revealed that the batteries require changing every 2 years at a cost of £1500 a piec, negating most of the savings.
i think they are to be placed on the 56/57 service as many drivers have told me so and said they will be arriving sometime during 2011 possibly march time and all 8 have been ordered supposedly
